Gary Hall Jr. > Message Board > World Class Swimmers and Coaches Thank you for all the amazing emails! Gary has received so many great messsages from all over the world including swim fans, other Olympians, swim coaches, and diabetes patients. If you would like to send Gary an email you can do so and Gary will try to personally answer your email as soon as possible. Below are some emails from world-class swimmers and coaches:January 21, 2004 Gary, see you at Nationals!! January 7, 2004 Gary, I am the coach at Wheaton College (one of the teams at the meet yesterday at Coral Springs Fl) One of my swimmers Barrett, was the guy that swam beside you in both races yesterday. It was a thrill for him to race next to you and to have you say a few words to him afterwords made his week! I have no idea your reasons for swimming yesterday, but whether they were for your training or just to continue being a great ambassador to our sport...BRAVO. I think it is absolutely phenomenal what you are doing for world swimming...and especially sprinting. Good on you. I've been a big fan of yours ever since I started going to coach along side Mike Bottom at the Elite Sprint Camp at Kenyon College every summer. Mike tells great stories about you and his other sprinters and your training, racing and life in general. If you speak to him tell him JP Gowdy says hello and cheers. Anyway, keep up the great work on the newsletter, and all other fantastic things you do for swimming. All the best with training and racing and keep playing the guitar. JP Gowdy December 30, 2003 Gary, I really enjoy your website and newsletter! The Race Club and your site Thanks, December 29, 2003 Dear Gary Jr., I am a fat 50 years old swimmer but I would love to help the "Race Club". A newspaper "Folha de São Paulo" published about the "Race Club". FANTASTIC!!! Race Club" is going to change the old way of treating the swimmers. I hope you get a gold medal at Athenas and come to visit me in Rio soon! November 20, 2003 Gary, Just clicked into your site and wow , Great job ! You seem to always be ahead with new ideas and projects ( and always with a twist of humor ) I think it is great. We met in New York in 2001 as I coached the European team at your sprint competion. I retired from coaching, now managing a large Tennis club, but my engagement in swimming is still there through ; masters-swimming ( broke 9 world records last year), personal coaching and mentorships for several athletes, my scholarshipfund, the team I built here at the Tennisclub, being with the Swedish National team on different trips in different positions ( like last year at the Europeans as a "Team-builder ") and swimming the Swedish National Championships this year, the 31st year that I qualified. Next year I hope to swim the Olympic Trials, the first time I swam the O. trials was in 1972..... as you can see , I´m a little crazy too. Anyway, just wanted to say hi and that I think you are doing a great job for swimming. The world needs more people like you ! Best Regards, Glen Christiansen November 21, 2003 Gary, Your old training partner from '96 here. Delighted to see your website recently and am delighted your plans are coming together.
