The mission of The Race Club is to promote the
sport of swimming and improve swimmers performances
and self esteem through education, services, and
the creation of popular race events. By so doing,
The Race Club hopes to broaden economic opportunities,
which will lengthen the careers of the worlds’ fastest
swimmers.
Founded in 2003, The Race Club, Inc. is jointly
owned by Gary Hall Sr. and Gary Hall Jr. The two are the
first father and son duo to each compete in three individual
Olympic Games. Collectively, they have earned thirteen
Olympic medals and established fifteen world records. Through
a combination of sales of its services and merchandise,
corporate sponsorships, and tax-deductible contributions
to its foundation, The Race Club will continue to support
selected athletes and achieve unparalleled success at the
Olympic Games.
The Race Club, Inc. was established in September of 2003
by Gary Hall, Jr. (10-time Olympic medalist) and his then
business associate David Arluck.
In the summer of 2003 Hall was getting ready to begin
his Athens 2004 push. His training and that of his training
partners was funded by the Phoenix Swim and Sport Foundation
(PSSF). PSSF is a 501(c)3 not-for-profit organization that
is chartered with helping World Team swimmers achieve their
dream of Olympic glory.
PSSF is the organization that funded the World Sprint
Team that trained under Mike Bottom for the 2000 Olympics.
Seven of eleven swimmers on that team made it to the Olympics
and both Anthony Ervin and Gary Hall won individual gold
medals.
The Race Club seeks to develop fitness camps, clinics,
videos, merchandise, and programs in which the proceeds
directly benefit World Team swimmers.
The Race Club unites swimmers from around the world in
friendly competition.
